Aspirus At Home Recognizes Hospice Volunteers

Calumet, Mich. – The annual Hospice Volunteer Recognition Dinner was held on Thursday, April 19 at the Michigan House Café in Calumet. Along with some education and discussion of the importance of volunteers to our hospice program, there was also laughter and a delicious meal.

The dedicated and caring volunteers provided over 500 hours of their time and drove over 2300 miles in 2017. They assisted with providing respite for families and visiting with hospice patients. Some volunteers provided office assistance, and others helped out with our bereavement program. Volunteers also sewed special remembrance teddy bears to give to grieving family members.

Our compassionate group of volunteers include:  Taylor Archibald, Susan Burack, Mary Ellen Crider, Scott Dahlstrom, Abbey Green, Carol Griffin, Cindy Griffin, Mary Ann Hohner, Carly Joseph, Kelly Kesti, Katie Kolb, Wanda Kolb, Kerri Luoma, Patricia Lund, Mariah Maggio, Rae Louise Matson, Sharon Mattfolk, Carolyn Peterson, Jill Pietila, Judy Pleshe, Beverly Rice, Barb Sicker, and Nancy Wakeman.

New volunteers are welcome. If you are interested in finding out more, contact Suzanne at Aspirus At Home at 906-337-5700.
