Aspirus proudly welcomes dermatologist Tom Raisanen, MD to its excellent team of medical providers. Dr. Raisanen specializes in medical and surgical care of the skin, hair, and nails for people of all ages. He is now welcoming patients at Aspirus Houghton Clinic in Houghton.
Dr. Raisanen earned bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering from Michigan Technological University. He earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School – Duluth and completed his dermatology residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
“I am thrilled to be back in the Copper Country with Aspirus,” said Dr. Raisanen. “I am excited to be working in this great community.”
Dr. Raisanen is passionate about working with his patients to deliver the highest levels of care and tailoring treatment options for the best outcomes. His special interests include general dermatology, skin cancer detection and treatment, and skin surgery.

Dr. Raisanen resides in Atlantic Mine with his wife and four children. His interests outside of work include sports, hunting, and fishing.
