HOUGHTON, Mich. – Do you avoid seeing your doctor or put off recommended screenings or tests because you fear the diagnosis? You’re not alone, and you don’t have to be.
Aspirus Keweenaw invites all ladies to learn about the importance of prevention and early intervention at We’ll Fight With You, a free Aspiring Women event in Houghton. We’ll Fight With You takes place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19, in the Memorial Union Ballroom at Michigan Technological University.
Aspirus General Surgeons Dr. Michael McAllister and Dr. John Nguyen (pronounced win) will discuss how to spot early warning signs and symptoms and why early screenings are so important. Ladies will enjoy all of the fun Aspiring Women extras such as tasty appetizers, complimentary gifts and raffles, a free cocktail token and more. “This is a great way for women of all ages to come together in a comfortable and supportive environment and learn about key health screenings that can literally save your life,” said Jenn Jenich-Laplander, Aspiring Women coordinator. “Just like our other Aspiring Women events, this is going to be informative and a lot of fun.”
The Aspiring Women program is designed to inspire health and wellness through educational and entertaining events for women. Since Aspirus Keweenaw launched the program in May of 2016, membership has grown to over 750 women of all ages. Membership is free and includes invitations to events and free e-newsletters.
