Akron Man Injured In Snowmobile Accident

A snowmobiler was injured Friday evening in Schoolcraft Township.

The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened on DNR Trail #3 near Normand Road.

A 20-year-old man from Akron, Michigan lost control on a turn, left the trail and hit an embankment.

The driver was taken to Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital for treatment.

His condition was not reported.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

Assisting on the scene were Bootjack First Responders and Mercy EMS.
