The final Adopt-A-Highway trash pickup window of the season opens tomorrow.
Volunteers from 2,800 businesses, community organizations and families will be canvassing the shoulders 6,100 miles of state highways, picking up trash.
Our Houghton Community Broadcasting Stations staff polices a two-mile stretch north and south of the Canyon Falls rest area on US-41.
Over the next nine days, drivers should watch carefully for volunteers.
They’ll leave the trash they collect in bags along the roadside. The Michigan Department of Transportation will haul them away.
