“Active Shooter” Training Scheduled at Houghton County Building

Employees at the Houghton County Courthouse will undergo active shooter training next month.

County Administrator Eric Forsberg says the simulation will help teach them what to do if someone with a weapon actually does threaten the building and its occupants…

Forsberg said it’s been a few years since such an exercise was conducted, and there has been a lot of staff turnover since then.

The courthouse will be closed between 12:30 and 4:30 on December 12th.

A similar drill may be scheduled next spring at the airport.
