Three people were injured in an accident Sunday afternoon in Chassell Township.
Deputies from the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched just after 3pm to US-41 near North Entry Road.
Authorities say the accident happened when a SUV, driven by a 78-year-old Hancock woman was slowing down waiting for a vehicle to make a left turn onto North Entry Road.
The SUV was struck from behind by another car driven by a 38-year-old Hancock woman.
The driver of the SUV and her 86-year-old passenger were both taken to U.P. Health System—Portage by Mercy EMS for treatment of their injuries.
Their conditions were not reported.
The driver of the car sought her own medical treatment and she was cited for failing to yield.
