26 Groups to Benefit from PHF Giving Tuesday Match

A record 26 local non-profit organizations will benefit from this year’s Portage Health Foundation Giving Tuesday campaign.

New participants this year include:
• The Bootjack Fire and Rescue Foundation 
 • Camp Josh
 • The Copper Country Junior Hockey Association 
 • The Ripple Recovery Center, and the Great Lake Recovery Centers Foundation 
 • unitē Mental Health and Wellness 

Returning organizations include:
 • 31 Backpacks
 • Ahmeek Village Volunteer Fire and Rescue
 • The Baraga County Shelter Home
 • The Barbara Kettle Gundlach Shelter Home
 • UP Kids Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Western UP
 • The Copper Country Angel Mission
 • Copper Country Habitat for Humanity
 • Copper Country Senior Meals
 • Copper Harbor Trails
 • The Dan Schmitt Gift of Music Fund
 • Dial Help
 • Friends of Porcupine Mountain Wilderness State Park
 • The Keweenaw Family Resource Center
 • The Keweenaw Nordic Ski Club
 • Keweenaw Random Acts of Community Kindness
 • Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly

The Portage Health Foundation will match donations up a certain dollar amount. Officials say that amount has not yet been established for this year. Last year’s amount was $200,000, with an additional $443,208.76 raised from donors during the campaign.

This year’s Giving Tuesday will take place November 29, although qualifying donations can be made beginning in early November. 

To donate, visit the PHF website, or send a check to Portage Health Foundation, 400 Quincy Street, Hancock MI 49930. Checks must be written to Portage Health Foundation with the organization for which the funds are designated noted along with the check.
