Chassell’s Lela Rautiola is the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship from the Houghton Rotary Club.
The Houghton Rotary plans to award one scholarship each year to a CTE student who plans to pursue further education in a CTE field.
The recipients of the 2019 Ronald and Lou Ellyn Helman Scholarship are Arizona Gilles, Donald Lehtola, and Jeremiah Wakeham.
The Ronald and Lou Ellyn Helman Scholarship’s primary purpose is to encourage skilled, motivated students to enter a post-secondary school offering fields of study such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, automotive services, health careers, etc. and to further their education in the field of their choice in order to become a skilled worker who is self-sufficient, reliable, and a contributing member of society.
