A contract to one of the bidders for the Portage Lake Lift Bridge rehab project has been offered. After receiving approval from the Transportation Commission, MDOT have accepted the bid of Zenith Tech, a company based in Waukesha, WI, who’s bid came in at $8.3 million, well above the estimated $5.5 million. Project manager Alan Anderson says due to the immediacy of the situation, they needed to get approval on one of the bids.
The project is set to begin in mid December. More information on the project and the scheduled delays are available on the MDOT website. Alan Anderson will be a guest on this weekend’s edition of Copper Country Today.
