Progress Michigan says a move by the state to cut its contract short with prison food service provider Aramark is good news for prisoners and taxpayers.
The liberal advocacy group says Aramark employees have been accused of serving food with maggots to inmates, sneaking drugs to inmates and having sex with them.
Trinity Services Group will take over food service beginning in September.
The new deal is actually going to cost the state $13 million more than the original Aramark deal did.
