Officials from the village of L’Anse say the let-run order that started in February had a big impact on the community as a whole. Village Manager Bob LaFave says that just from last month, 13,000 gallons were run which is about 7,000 more than usual. He estimates that between $380 to 390,000 was spent on services like working lines and thawing pipes. The village reminds all residents to turn of your water if you’re pipes were not frozen this winter. Those with thawed and unthawed pipes should continue to run until further notice.
