Let-Run Advisories Continue

With another bitter cold snap comes the danger of frozen water pipes.

A Let Run Water Advisory continues in the Village of L’Anse for all village water customers.

Village Manager Robert LaFave says the village requests that water customers run water in their home no thicker than a pencil lead until further notice.

Frozen water pipes in the city of Houghton was one of the concerns discussed at last nights city council meeting.

City Manager Eric Waara said they have had reports of about 20 service line freeze ups with at least that many more of residents experiencing at least one water pipe freezing up in their home.

Waara said he planned on assigning extra personnel from the public works department to help deal with the situation.

If you experience a freeze up, you should contact the city office to be put on their “let Run” list.

Waara said if you let your water run, dripping water is not enough but splashing is too much.
