Lead Levels In Flint Reportedly Decreasing

Lead levels in Flint’s water supply are slightly lower, following the latest round of tests, according to Governor Rick Snyder.

So far three rounds of tests at Sentinel Sites have been completed.

The latest shows about eight percent of them showing lead levels above federal action standards.

That’s a slight improvement from the 8.5 percent recorded during round two, and 9.6 percent recorded during round one.

The tests help determine if current treatments to the water are properly recoating pipes to prevent the leaching of lead, which caused the Flint water crisis.

There are 600 test sites around the city which are tested every two weeks.

The sites were established by state and federal officials in cooperation with residents, according to the governor.

Data from the Sentinel Sites will continue to be collected for another four weeks.
