Lawsuit Filed Over Line 5 Pipeline Concern

The National Wildlife Federation has filed a suit claiming the federal government has misjudged an emergency response plan in case of a disaster with a pipeline that runs through the Straits of Mackinac.

The suit says the government has not accounted for the impact on wildlife, plants and Great Lakes shorelines in the event of a rupture within the Line 5 pipeline.
