Lawmakers Bring Nativity Back to Capitol

Some state lawmakers are making sure a Christian Nativity scene can be seen on the Capitol lawn this holiday.

Senator Ken Horn bought the Nativity from Bronner’s Christmas store, which is being displayed next to the Capitol.

He says Senator Rick Jones has volunteered to set up the Nativity each morning and take it down each night.

Under Capitol rules, religious displays can be in place only between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m., when it must be taken down for the day.

Last year, Bronner’s donated a Nativity and Jones handled the set up and tear down each day to counter a satanic scene displayed the on Capitol grounds.

That same display is on the lawn again this year.
