Last-Second Win for Lions, Loss for Packers – Monday Sports Wrap

College Basketball

The Tech and Northern men’s teams played at the JustAGame Crossover Tournament at Wisconsin Dells over the weekend.

A late comeback by the Huskies fell short yesterday in a 93-87 loss to Upper Iowa. Marcus Tomashek scored 21 points.

Northern couldn’t hold a halftime lead, and fell to Missouri S and T 76-70 yesterday.

College Soccer

The NMU women’s soccer team edged Parkside 1-0 to win the GLIAC tournament championship game yesterday. The Wildcats will find out tonight whom they’ll face in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.

NHL

The Red Wings are in Stockholm, where they’ll meet the Senators on Thursday. Coverage will begin at 1:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

NBA

The Pistons suffered their eighth straight loss last night, falling to the Bulls 119-108 in an NBA In-Season Tournament game. Kevin Knox II came off the bench to lead Detroit with 18 points. Ausar Thompson grabbed 16 rebounds.

The Pistons host the Hawks in another NBA In-Season Tournament game tomorrow. Coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

NFL

The Packers lost to the Steelers 23-19 yesterday. Jordan Love completed 21 of 40 passes for 289 yards, with two touchdowns, and two interceptions, including one at the goal line that ended the game.

Riley Patterson’s 41-yard field goal at the end of the game lifted the Lions to a 41-38 victory over the Chargers yesterday. Jared Goff passed for 333 yards and two touchdowns. Amon-Ra St. Brown caught eight passes for 156 yards. David Montgomery ran for 116 yards.

In last night’s contest, the Jets’ last-second Hail Mary pass fell short, and the Raiders hung on for a 16-12 victory.

The Bills welcome the Broncos tonight, with coverage at 7:30 on 99.3 The Lift.
