L’Anse buying new snow plow

The Village of L’Anse will be getting a new plow truck. At last night’s meeting, council members approved a five-year lease purchase, at a cost of $38,000 per year. At the end of the lease, the village will own the truck outright. Manager Bob LaFave explained that we’re not likely to see the truck on the streets this winter.

We get it ordered now, it’s gonna probably take at least a year to show up because of the slowdowns they’ve got.

Lease payments will not start until after the truck has arrived. It’s the first new plow vehicle the village has purchased in nearly 20 years. Council members also donated $200 to the Howl O Scream Haunted House – an increase of $50 over last year’s contribution. The haunted house is a major fundraiser for Meadowbrook Arena. It will be held on Fridays and Saturdays, October 8th and 9th, 15th and 16th, and 22nd and 23rd.
