A Lake Linden man accused of fleeing from police by driving down a snowmobile trail is facing a felony charge and two misdemeanors.
28-year-old Adam Scott Fountaine of Lake Linden was arraigned Wednesday in 97th District Court.
The charges stem from an incident during the early morning hours of June 10th when police say they tried to pull Fountaine over in Lake Linden.
Fountaine allegedly tried to flee down a snowmobile trail at 60 miles per hour until he wrecked the vehicle.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Calumet Post caught up with the suspect who appeared to have injured his leg during the pursuit.
Fountaine was charged with Fleeing and Eluding a Police Officer, a felony punishable by 5 years in prison and/or a $1,000 fine.
He is also charged with Operating While Intoxicated—2nd Offense and Possession of a Firearm While Under The Influence, which are both misdemeanors.
The prosecution said Fountaine had a blood-alcohol level of 0.219, more than two and a half times the legal limit, and had a 22-bolt action rifle in the vehicle.
Fountaine pled not guilty to the misdemeanors.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 13th.
