Lawmakers need to fix harmful policies that are failing our kids. That’s the message from the Kids Count in Michigan Data Book 2016, which has just been released.
The report shows that child poverty has gone up in 80 of the 83 counties in Michigan since 2006.
And the report indicates that all three measures of economic security worsened during that time frame.
Recommendations are for lawmakers to help Michigan’s children by investing in neighborhood security, clean air and water and developing higher quality schools.
