Michigan is getting a new state treasurer.
He’s Nick Khouri, who was a familiar face around the Michigan Capitol during the 1990’s as he had been a top Department of Treasury official during the John Engler administration.
Khouri’s appointment was announced by Governor Rick Snyder Tuesday.
He replaces Kevin Clinton, who had earlier said he would work only through the governor’s first term.
Clinton will be taking a job in the private sector, according to a press release from the governor.
Khouri most recently was Vice President of Corporate Affairs for DTE.
His first day is April 20th.
