Several Area robotics teams are returning home after a busy weekend in Escanaba. The FIRST robotics district championship took place at Escanaba High school bringing 39 teams from across the state to compete and showcase their weeks of preceding efforts.
Of the Keweenaw teams who competed, Calumet and L’Anse reached the quarterfinal rounds. Houghton High School received the industrial design award and reached the semifinals, placing 6th place overall. The event was won by teams from Gladstone, Rochester, and Grand Rapids.
