Calumet, MI – The United Nations World Tourism Organization initiative is annually hosted on September 27th. Its purpose is to foster awareness among the international communities of the importance of tourism and it’s social, cultural, political and economic value. Every year interested parties take part in the special celebrations on September 27th. In celebration of World Tourism Day, Helloworld is hosting the first global “InstaRELAY” across more than 80 destinations around the world and the Keweenaw Peninsula is going to be a part of it.
For one day, from sunrise to sunset, select Instagrammers in select destinations from around the world will take images and post using the hashtag #HelloworldRELAY. Michigan has been invited to take part in this because of its prolific social presence. Pure Michigan has chosen 10 different iconic Michigan destinations and we are happy to announce the Keweenaw Peninsula is among them.
This will be the first time ever that there will be a global effort to promote tourism in such a way so please join us in celebrating the World Tourism Day on September 27, 2015.
