The Keweenaw is the best!
That’s true of many aspects of the area, but it’s the Keweenaw Peninsula App and those that created it who are celebrating being voted number one at the 2015 Michigan Broadband Conference in Lansing on Tuesday.
The conference featured technology best practices and broadband efforts as well as awards recognizing communities offering innovative projects and services.
As one of four finalists, representatives from the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce and the Keweenaw Convention and Visitors Bureau gave a presentation about the app.
That was followed by voting, both from those in attendance and those texting in as the conference was steamed live on the internet.
After all the votes were tallied, the Keweenaw Peninsula App was named the winner.
The app brings everything a tourist needs to know right to their smartphone—hiking trails, restaurants, waterfalls, lodging, shopping and events.
