The Keweenaw National Historical Park Advisory Commission along with the National Park Service have announced the start of their Keweenaw Heritage Grants program for 2014. They will be offering up to $100,000 in grants which are subject to a 1-to-1 match. According to the parameters of the program, projects or programs that apply must be located within the boundaries of the Keweenaw Park, affiliated with an existing Keweenaw Heritage Site or located at the Cliff Mine, along Torch Lake or within the community of Painesdale. Grants will range between $1,000 and $15,000. Applications are available at the park headquarters or on the park’s website. The deadline to apply is Tuesday April 1st.
