Hancock, Michigan—The Keweenaw Community Foundation (KCF) is currently looking for interested community individuals to apply to join its Environmental, Houghton County Historical Preservation, and Portage Lake Youth Endowment Advisory Committees. Committee members for these field of interest endowments will consider community needs, review grant applications, make grant decisions, and act as an ambassador for the Foundation.
Applications are available on KCF’s website at http://keweenawcommunityfoundation.org/who-we-are/our-committees/ and should be submitted to mail@k-c-f.org or brought to the KCF office.
Field of interest endowments provide annual support in the form of grants targeted toward specific areas of community needs and interests to meet changing conditions and/or enhance the quality of life in the Keweenaw. The primary purpose of the Environmental fund is to promote and sustain programs, projects, and activities related to a broad range of environmental concerns in Houghton and Keweenaw Counties. The primary purpose of the Houghton County Historical Preservation fund is to support historical preservation and education projects or activities related to the Houghton County of Michigan. The primary purpose of the Portage Lake Youth fund is to support programs and activities that are designed to serve youth in the Portage Lake area.
Tax deductible contributions may be made to these funds (or to any of KCF’s 80+ other funds) online at www.keweenawgives.org. All contributions to a permanent endowment of KCF qualify for a Federal Tax Credit.
