Collaborations, events, and a new website were talked about at the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce annual meeting and elections.
The purpose of this meeting is to elect board members into open positions and update the chamber members on what the chamber accomplished in the past year and what to look for in the future.
This year’s meeting was particularly informative because of the Chamber’s recent launch of their new website.
Executive Director Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce Cheryl Fahrner said, “The features that are offered for our members really offer them the opportunity to engage other members, engage other people and visitors in our community. And not only the visitors but our locals as well. ”
The website is easy to use and is a great way to find out information on Keweenaw businesses and events.
Along with their new website, the Keweenaw Chamber will focus on technology and relations in the coming year.
Fahner said, “We also have other opportunities where we’re going to be bringing in some Quickbooks Lunch and Learn series, maybe some customer service opportunities and sessions. Lots of different opportunities for businesses and we want to hear from the community and our businesses to see what they would like to also see featured.”
Elections for 3 year terms on the Keweenaw Chamber Board of Directors also take place at the annual meetings. Matt Thyer was re-elected as treasurer and the 2 open positions on the Board are now filled by Jan Cole and Calvin Larson.
