The Keweenaw Peninsula Chamber of Commerce has a new director. Cheryl Farhner has taken over the position which had been vacant for nearly three years, since the departure of Dallas Bond. Fahrner is familiar with the area. She grew up in Ironwood, and worked at the D&N Bank headquarters in Hancock in the 1980s… Fahrner A. Most recently, she served as a regional corporate events director for the American Heart Association in Wisconsin… and also spent seven years as Executive Director of the Plover Area Business Association. Despite the lengthy vacancy in the director’s chair here, Fahrner says the Keweenaw Chamber’s Executive Board made sure the organization held together… Fahrner B. Chamber Board President Glen Tolksdorf says the Chamber looks forward to working with Fahrner to bring new ideas to the local business community.
