Sawyer International Airport in Marquette has been named Michigan’s Airport of the Year by the state Department of Transportation. Manager Duane DuRay was praised for overseeing the reconstruction of a runway, and for assisting MDOT in revising its grant closeout process. The award is based on accomplishments in the areas of community relations, airport management, airport maintenance activities, and innovative activities and programs.
