Junior Achievement of Michigan Great Lakes opens office in Ishpeming

The Junior Achievement of the Michigan Great Lakes launches a new Upper Peninsula office. On Monday the Junior Achievement of the Michigan Great Lakes announced it has opened a new office in Ishpeming called the JA of the Upper Peninsula. Last week the office held a special lunch and launch event in Maquette that included community and school leaders, and JAMGL.

President and CEO Bill Coderre, and Senior Vice President of Development Jay Ediger. The Junior Achievement of the Michigan Great Lakes works to prepare and inspire k-12 students for success in a global economy with programs aimed at work readiness, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship.

JA program prepares students to succeed as adults says Dennis Smith, retired CEO of the Upper Peninsula Health Plan, adding he’s excited to help bring Junior Achievement to the region. Director of JAUP Lindsay Bean says having an office locally will allow the programs a physical space to meet, but also demonstrates the Junior Achievement’s commitment to preparing students in the Upper Peninsula to enter and succeed in the workforce.
