COVID-19 is altering Tech’s Winter Carnival plans, and that includes who will be judging the snow statues this year. Normally, people filling that role come from diverse locations across the country and are shuttled to each location on a bus. In a year where the recommendation is for guests to avoid visiting on-campus statues in person, a large group in a small space just isn’t practical. The preferred choice is to pull from Michigan Tech faculty and administration, but locals may have a shot to fill some slots, says President Scott Sviland.
