The sexual assault trial of a former Calumet hockey player has resumed in Windsor. Ben Johnson is accused of molesting a woman in the restroom of a Windsor bar in January of 2013. The Windsor Star reports that Johnson’s alleged victim took the stand earlier this week. Yesterday, the alleged victim’s girlfriend told the court that they were both in the restroom, and were ready to leave when Johnson trapped the alleged victim in a stall. She said the alleged victim’s brother was also at the bar, and got into an altercation with Johnson after he left the restroom. Johnson’s attorney has accused the victim of faking the story in hopes of gaining a financial settlement. Johnson was at the bar with several teammates from the Windsor Spitfires hockey team. He’s now playing with the New Jersey Devils’ farm team in Albany. Johnson also faces a second sexual assault charge stemming from an incident at another Windsor bar.
