Johnson Says He Would Like To Bring Passenger Rail Service Back To Northern Michigan

All aboard for the Copper Country!

Could passenger rail service be reestablished for the Keweenaw?

Lon JohnsonDemocratic Candidate for the 1st Congressional District Lon Johnson thinks so.

He’s promoting the idea as part of his campaign.

Johnson says the effort would take a partnership between the government and private business to make it happen.

But, he says, the benefit to the economy would be worth it.

Johnson says his other main issues are providing all of Northern Michigan with access to cell phone and high speed internet service and focusing on the use and protection of the Great Lakes.
