Isle Royale Queen IV Runs Aground–Ranger III To Ferry The Load

Efforts are underway to help ferry the load to and from Isle Royale.

The Isle Royale Queen IV reportedly ran aground Tuesday.

No one was injured and the cause of the accident has not been reported.

The Queen is currently out of commission so the Ranger III will be used to bring all passengers currently on the island back to the mainland.

However, gale force winds are complicating the issue, keeping the ferry from making any trips today.

Officials at the Isle Royale National Park expect that all passengers will be able to return tomorrow.

The Ranger III is also standing by to support any additional passengers and trips to the Isle Royale so that everyone’s vacation plans will remain intact while the Queen is out of service.
