Ishpeming Hopes to Rebuild Santa House

Ishpeming Police continue their search for the heartless Grinch who burned down the city’s iconic Santa house last weekend.

The small building that was used each Christmas season was already a smoldering ruin when firefighters arrived early Saturday morning.

Police Chief Steve Snowaert says efforts to rebuild the Santa house are already underway. Community members have volunteered to provide labor, and a GoFundMe page has been set up to collect money to buy materials.

As for the arsonist, Snowaert is hoping some community member who knows something will step forward.

Or, maybe, the Grinch’s heart will grow three times larger, and he’ll turn himself in.
