A survey in Michigan says that while 96% of Michiganders believe attending college is at least “somewhat important,” more than 67% disagree with those who say college is reasonable affordable. The survey was conducted by the Institute for Public Policy and Social Research at Michigan State University for the Michigan College Access Network. Brandy Johnson, Executive Director of M-CAN says it’s important to remove the barriers to attending college, and the perception that it’s not affordable makes consideration of higher education a “non starter” for many families.
