Iron River Man Denies Terrorist Threat

Anthony Nielsen 2014-11-27An Iron River man accused of making terrorist threats has pleaded not guilty in Iron County Circuit Court this week.

36-year-old Anthony Nielsen is charged with making a false report or threat of terrorism, and possession of marijuana as a four-time habitual offender. Nielsen passed a competency exam this fall. The terrorism threat carries a potential 20-year prison term, but Nielsen’s multiple-offense status could bring him a life term. His previous convictions are for drugs, and a fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct charge involving a teenage girl.

He will appear in court December 15 for a pretrial hearing.
