Iron County Murder Suspect Labeled Possible Serial Killer

New details are emerging regarding a murder suspect in Iron County.

Cochran, Kelly33-year-old Kelly Cochran is being held on six felony charges, including homicide, open murder in the death of Christopher Regan of Iron River.

Court documents indicate Cochran is also a suspect in another murder investigation in Illinois, the death of her husband Jason Cochran.

She is also being described as a possible serial killer if her reported claims of being responsible for additional murders turn out to be true.

Records also show Cochran has an alleged history of mental illness, including a voluntary admission to a psychiatric facility in Indiana last month.

At her arraignment this week, the prosecutor filed a motion to request a forensic exam regarding her competency to stand trial and criminal responsibility.

Cochran is currently being held on a $5 million cash bond.

A competency hearing will be held on May 31st.

Her preliminary exam is scheduled for June 6th.
