Hubbell Stabbing Suspect Arraigned

The 42-year-old man who was allegedly involved in a stabbing in Hubbell on Friday appeared in Houghton County District Court today. Paul Moilanen has been charged with second-degree murder for the death of 48-year-old Marcy LaVigne. He is also charged with attempted murder of LaVigne’s daughter. Moilanen’s bond was set at $2.5 million. The preliminary hearing will be set in two weeks. Both counts carry a life sentence if he is convicted.
