Houghton County Walkaway to Face Felony Escape Charge

The Houghton County prisoner who walked away from a work release job site last week will face a felony escape charge. 27-year-old Kevin Michael Anderson was arraigned Friday… a day after he disappeared from a crew working on the grounds at the Houghton County Memorial Airport. Anderson was captured several hours later near Dollar Bay. He was about halfway through a 30-day misdemeanor sentence. Now, he’s being held on a 50-thousand dollar cash bond, and faces a two-year prison term if convicted. He’ll be back in Houghton County District Court for a preliminary examination on September 19th.
