Houghton County Fair Statistics

The 2014 Houghton County Fair Season has officially wrapped up with a look at the numbers from this year’s fair. Attendance was estimated at just under 23,500, down about 2% from the year before. The Houghton County Fair Association says the new carnival and midway, provided by Spectrum Entertainment, were well received. 315 youth and adult exhibitors shared about $9,500 in premiums, while 22 livestock exhibitors raised over $23,000 in the livestock auction. Next year’s fair is scheduled for August 27th to the 30th.
