The Houghton City Council started their meeting yesterday with two public hearings to allow discussion on amendments being made to the Downtown Development Authority and Tax Increment Finanace Authority Plans. The council then approved the amendments. City Manager Eric Waara also discussed the city’s potential involvement in the Houghton Energy Efficiency Team. A resolution calling for approval of an Equal Opportunity Implementation plan regarding MEDC funding in the downtown area was also approved.
