Houghton Awards Contract for New City Website

The City of Houghton’s new website will be developed by The Marketing Company.

The Houghton business was one of five that bid on the job. The Houghton City Council awarded the contract at its meeting last night.

The current city site is 10 years old.

One of the priorities in development of the new site is that it be easy for city staffers to update on a regular basis.

City councilors also approved the demolition of a house at 306 Quincy Street. The city recently purchased the decaying home for $5,000 (see our previous story here).

A professional abatement firm will charge $7,230 to remove asbestos and lead safely. A city crew will complete the demolition.
