Homeowner Will Not Be Charged For Killing Intruder

A homeowner will not face charges in the shooting death of a 19-year old man during a home invasion in Menominee County last November.

Sheriffs Deputies say Hayden Gagnon of Pulaski, Wisconsin and two other men broke into the Mellen Township home through the attached garage. He was shot repeatedly by the 62-year-old homeowner and pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies said the shooting was in self-defense, and the prosecutor said the homeowner waited to shoot until the perceived danger had entered his home.

The two other men were later captured in the woods near the home.

The homeowner is expected to testify against the pair in upcoming hearings. His name has not been released.
