City officials continue to assess the damage surrounding the collapse of the roof of the historic Kirkish Furniture building in downtown Houghton.
The upper portion of the building came down early Saturday morning.
The building is owned by Adventure Properties, LLC.
No one was inside the building at the time and no injuries were reported.
The building was under renovation at the time of the collapse and the exact cause has yet to be determined.
Though the investigation is ongoing, the combined weight of snow, ice and water appear to be a major factor.
