Keep an eye out along Michigan roadways this weekend.
Dan Weingarten from the Michigan Department of Transportation says volunteers will be picking up trash as part of the Adopt-A-Highway program over the next week.
Volunteers pick up 70,000 bags of trash every year in Michigan saving taxpayers $5 million annually.
Nearly 3,000 groups will be picking up litter along 6,400 miles of highway.
This is the second of three scheduled pickups this year.
