A new fund has been set up to help Upper Peninsula residents pay for the expenses associated with organ transplants. The Super Health Foundation has set up the fund along with the group that puts on the U.P. Run For Life every year. This year’s run will be on June 8th in Marquette. Much of the work to set up this fund has been done by Marquette resident Amy Harju, who received a kidney transplant nearly a decade ago. Transplant patients can apply for up to one thousand dollars to help with medical costs, prescriptions, and travel expenses.
