We have reached the mid-point of winter and you know what that means? Heikkenpaiva will be taking place tomorrow in Hancock and Finnish Theme Committee Member David Maki says it’s the best fun you’ll have all weekend.
Maki will be serving the event as the honorary Hankooki Heikki, given to an individual in the community that strives to promote the Finnish culture. The event begins at 10 a.m. with fesitivies such as kicksleds and the Tori Market. The parade will start at 11 a.m. and later in the day, the Polar Bear Dive will be making its return for the brave souls who wants to plunge into Portage Lake. Maki says there is simply nothing like Heikkenpaiva.
