Heikinpäivä, Hancock’s mid-winter celebration, is Saturday.
The tori opens up at 10am at the Finnish American Heritage Center and the First United Methodist Church, offering a wide range of craft items and baked goods.
Family Fun Day activities will be taking place at Quincy Green from 10:00-2:00, where kids can ride the whipsled and the kicksleds.
The line up for the parade begins at 10:30 near the Scott Building and the parade steps off at 11:00.
Finnish Consul General Jukka Pietikäinen will be riding the World’s Largest Kicksled.
The parade will be followed by kicksled races and the wife-carrying contest at Quincy Green.
The Polar Bear Dive takes place at the Hancock waterfront at 3:00.
Saturday’s Heikinpäivä events wrap up with a dance at 7:00 at the Finnish American Heritage Center where the Consul General will bestow honors from the Republic of Finland upon two prominent Finnish Americans.
