HEET Establishing Advisory Board

Energy rates are rising, temperatures are dropping and the Houghton Energy Efficiency Team is working hard trying to find a solution the energy crisis in Houghton County. Last night during their monthly meeting, the discussion centered on developing a structure for the team, which includes creating a community advisory board, as well as many different subcommittees like marketing and fundraising coordinators. Team member Abhi Kantamneni says support from the community is one of their biggest needs.

Among those nominated so far are local government officials, energy efficiency supporters and technology leaders. An online poll will be created to fill the positions, with a deadline at or near January 14th, designated as Media Day for the Georgetown University Energy competition.
